5 X-factors for Tennessee Volunteers baseball in 2024

AJ Causey

Causey transferred in from Jacksonville State where he was the Friday night starter. He has so far been one of the top arms out of the bullpen in Knoxville with a 1.17 ERA through his 7 ⅔ innings. Perhaps he sticks in that role, but there are some questions surrounding the Volunteers’ Sunday starter. Zander Sechrist won the job, but his first outing against Baylor was not pretty. If that becomes a trend, head coach Tony Vitello may turn to someone else. Causey, who has starting experience, may be the next man up.
