UH Hilo Athletics BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. – At Rams Hill Golf Club, the Cal State East Bay men's golf team finished up the three-round Battle in the Desert on Wednesday tied for ninth place among 16 teams. The only Pioneer to reach the top-20 on the leaderboard was Easton Hether, who tied for 16th place at 3-over-par 219 (72-74-73). Hether had a team-high 15 birdies among the 54 holes played throughout the week. The two lowest third round scores on Wednesday of 71 were from Melker Backstrom and Aaron Lee.
