Women’s Ice Hockey drops opening round of playoffs to Merrimack in OT
ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team suffered an overtime loss to Merrimack College in the opening round of Hockey East playoffs at Alfond Arena Wednesday night. Fifth-year forward Ida Kuoppala scored Maine's lone goal, her 21st of the season, around the six-minute mark left in the second period to give Maine the lead. Sam Morrison picked up the assist on Kuoppala's power-play goal.
