NFL Hall of Famers who were arrested for insane crimes

NEW YORK (BVM) – Although Pro Football Hall of Famers are among the greatest to grace the field – their off-field actions may not always reflect the same level of merit.

The NFL Hall of Fame bases its enshrinements solely on achievements on the field – and disregards any inappropriate conduct off the field.

“We are only supposed to assess players on what they did on the football field,” Scott Garceau, Baltimore’s representative on the 48-member Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee, previously told the Baltimore Sun. “For instance, if a player had three DUIs, that’s something we’re not supposed to bring up.”

The controversial question remains – Should disgraceful off-field conduct disqualify a great player from induction into the Hall of Fame, or even prompt their removal from it?

Here are five NFL Hall of Famers who were arrested for their connection to some awful crimes. Note that this story contains some adult content.
