Trinity girls basketball wins back-to-back class 3A state championships defeating Plainview

BIRMINGHAM — Trinity girls basketball won back-to-back Class 3A AHSAA state championships on Friday afternoon, defeating Plainview 48-40 at Legacy Arena. The Wildcats jumped out to a 27-17 lead at the halftime mark, after shooting 55% from the floor in the first two quarters. The duo of Francie Morris and Maddie Smith combined for 20 first half points giving the wildcats a double-digit lead early in the contest.
