Gardner-Webb Falls to Winthrop on Final Game of the Regular Season

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's basketball fell to Winthrop University on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 72-54. Prior to tipoff the program recognized seniors Ramatoulaye Keita and Micahla Funderburk for their contributions to the program. Despite a competitive opening frame, Winthrop took an early lead and more firm control of the game. Harris and Ashley Hawkins kept the 'Dawgs in the game through much of the second quarter with the 'Dawsg only trailing by 10 at the break.
