Wrestling recap: Chillicothe’s Smith advances to state meet

CHILLICOTHE − Check out roundups from Saturday's local sports matchups: Division II District Meet at Gallia Academy: Chillicothe, Waverly and Unioto all took part in the district tournament at Gallia Academy over the weekend. Chillicothe had one wrestler advance to the state meet, after Cannan Smith placed first in the 132-pound bracket. Smith won his matches through a 19-8 major decision, technical fall, pin and an 8-4 decision.
