Layton closes out rookie campaign with OVC Freshman of the Week honors

By Mike Lehman, TTU Sports Information BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the first time in his young career, Tennessee Tech men's basketball rookie Kyle Layton was honored as the Ohio Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league Monday morning. Layton shared the honor with Little Rock's Jaylen Crocker-Johnson. Layton was second on the Golden Eagle squad in scoring for the regular season's final week of ball games, averaging 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds for the purple and gold in a pair of road tilts at UT Martin and Little Rock.
