Michael Thomas released; 5 landing spots for former OPOY
4. Detroit Lions
Before he took over as head coach in Detroit, Dan Campbell served as the Saints’ assistant head coach during Thomas’ first four NFL seasons so there is a familiarity there. The Lions also had the second-best passing attack in the league last year, an established No. 1 wideout in Amon-Ra St. Brown and an opening for the No. 2 position, which could appeal to Thomas.
However, Detroit also has a bevy of wide receivers including former first-round pick Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond. While the Lions have plenty of cap space and could bring Thomas in on a cheap prove-it type deal, they may be more interested in developing the talent they already have in the building.
