Three-Peat Thwarted: Manhattan Christian loses thriller to Box Elder in State C championship game
GREAT FALLS — There will be no three-peat for Manhattan Christian. In a thrilling state championship game Saturday night, Box Elder shifted momentum late in the third quarter and then withstood a run down the stretch to end Eagles’ two-year reign. Matthias Blackbird buried a baseline jumper with 13.4 seconds remaining to seal a 68-64 victory in the Class C title game in front of a standing room only crowd in Four Seasons Arena. It capped a perfect 26-0 campaign for Box Elder.
