Boys basketball: Verona’s Drew Murphy named to Big Eight’s top team

Four Verona boys basketball players garnered Big Eight All-Conference accolades. Verona junior Drew Murphy was named first-team all-conference. Murphy averaged 23 points per game and helped Verona finish 15-11, 12-6 in a third-place tie with Janesville Craig in the league. Verona junior Tre Poteat (21.2 ppg) received second-team all-conference honors. Both juniors Cam Williams (14.3 ppg) and Kamarr Bridges-Miller (8.2 ppg) were named honorable mention all-conference.
