DAY THREE RECAP: Kong Sets New Pioneer Record at NCAA Championships; Finishes Eighth Nationally in 100 Yard Butterfly

Cal State East Bay Athletics GENEVA, Ohio – The 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships resumed Thursday from SPIRE Institute Aquatics Center. Two events included swimmers from Cal State East Bay women's swimming – the 400 yard individual medley and 100 yard butterfly. In the 100 yard butterfly, a new Pioneer record was set in the prelims by Tehani Kong , who finished in 54.33 seconds. Kong's record-breaking prelim performance earned her a spot in the 100 yard butterfly championship final. In the evening's final, Kong placed eighth overall in 54.65 seconds.
