CALDWELL, N.J. -- Graduate 3B Riley Riendeau (Lincoln, R.I.) had a two-run home run in the first game and junior shortstop Ashleigh Tavaska (Jackson, N.J.) blasted a three-run shot the nightcap as Caldwell softball split a doubleheader with Assumption, falling in the opener, 9-4, and winning game two, 4-0, on Sunday at Caldwell Athletic Fiels. Riendeau also had an RBI single in the sixth for a 2-for-4, three RBI game. Freshman DP Brooke Freschi (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) drove in the other Cougars run in the sixth with a sacrifice fly.
