Teevens’ MVP Part of Smithsonian Exhibit at the National Museum of American History
Larry French WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former legendary Dartmouth football coach Buddy Teevens' impact on football went far beyond X's and O's. A collaboration between Teevens and Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering together developed the world's first robotic tackling dummy, the MVP, to help reduce unnecessary contacts and injuries suffered during football and other sporting practices. The MVP is now featured in a new exhibition, which opened March 15 at the National Museum of American History called Change Your Game, presented by the Smithsonian's Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation.
