Maxime Raynaud transferring: 5 best fits for 7-foot-1 center

Xavier

While Xavier feels like an outlier on this list, the Musketeers have an ace in the hole. Associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Adam Cohen helped recruit Raynaud to Stanford when he was an assistant coach there from 2016-2022. Xavier struggled in the low post this year as injuries to starters Jerome Hunter and Zach Freemantle in the offseason put them in a bad spot. With their futures up in the air, the Musketeers could be in the market for an experienced big who can hold down one of the forward spots for years to come.

Raynaud would not only get ample playing time right away, but he could also rejoin Cohen, one of his first collegiate coaches. If the two still have a good relationship from their time together in Stanford, perhaps Cohen can convince his former center to join him at Xavier. Not only would this stabilize the Musketeers frontcourt, but could make them an immediate contender to return to the NCAA Tournament next March.
