College NIL: 10 hilarious deals made in name, image, laughs
9. Dieunerst Collin X Popeyes
Dieunerst Collin went viral as a meme after giving the side-eye at a Popeyes restaurant in 2013 – shown here. Now, Collin is a 6-foot-1, 330-pound Division II offensive lineman and a brand ambassador for Popeyes.
“Ya’ll, go get yourself a chicken sandwich,” Collin said when he discussed his NIL deal on Instagram Live.
As part of the NIL agreement, Collin starred in a Popeyes commercial – a clever marketing move that resonated with audiences’ sense of nostalgia.
Dieunerst Collin, also known as the “Popeyes Meme Kid,” is now a college Football player, took to social media to rally his followers to convince Popeyes to offer him a name, image, & likeness (NIL) deal. In less than a week, he got his wish and secured the bag 🤷🏾♂️💰 pic.twitter.com/Fsu2fgbtuF
