THIBODAUX, La. – Starting pitcher Jacob Mayers tallied a career-high 12 strikeouts and Edgar Alvarez hit a home run in the Nicholls State University baseball team's 4-1 loss to New Orleans on Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field on Friday night. Mayers allowed three hits and one earned run in 6.1 innings of action.
