Griffitas Move to 9-1 with Win Over SBU

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The 35th-ranked Missouri Western tennis team extended their best start in program history to 9-1 Thursday, edging out a 4-3 win over Southwest Baptist at Genesis Health Club. The Griffons battled illness alongside the Bearcats, but swept SBU in doubles to claim the first point of the match. Anya Chavez (7-5, 6-2), Lucia Casas Blas (6-4,6-2) and Maria Saez (6-1, 6-1), earned wins in #1, #4 and #5 singles to claim the match for MWSU.
