BACK-TO-BACK: Hobart Hockey wins 2nd straight national championship

KEVIN COLTON HARTFORD, Conn.— The top-ranked Hobart Hockey team defeated third-ranked Trinity 2-0 on the Bantams' home ice to win the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship for the second year in a row. Sophomore goalie Damon Beaver made 25 saves to record his seventh shutout of the season, matching his Hobart season record set last year in the Statesmen's first championship run. Junior Luke Aquaro gave Hobart the lead with a goal late in the second period and Matthew Iasenza sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 25 seconds remaining.
