Gardner-Webb Splits with Winthrop Taking Final Game of Weekend Series
ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University softball team split their Sunday doubleheader at Winthrop University falling 3-0 in game one, and winning 5-1 in game two. The 'Dawgs took the second game scoring five runs on seven hits, and tallying nine hits total on the day. Winthrop was able to get two across in the third inning of game one on a sacrifice fly and a homerun. The Eagles went on to put up one more in the fifth inning, while shutting out GWU 3-0.
