Grinnell women’s tennis team shuts down nationally-ranked UW-Whitewater

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Grinnell College’s women’s tennis team not only defeated nationally-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Monday, the Pioneers dominated the match. Grinnell had little trouble disposing of the 37th-ranked Warhawks, posting a 9-0 victory. The Pioneers opened with a sweep of doubles play by the duos of Ioanna Giannakou ’24-Lily Perrin ’25 (8-4), Irene Agusti ’24-Erin Jarvis ’25 (8-2) and Isa Voinescu ’26-Paige Sargent ’27 (8-1). Singles winners were Agusti (2-6, 7-6, 1-0), Giannakou (6-3, 6-1), Perrin (7-5, 6-1), Sargent (6-1, 6-4), Utsah Kalra ’25 (6-1, 6-2) and Jarvis (6-3, 6-1).
