Four members of the 2023-24 Wayne State University women's basketball team have been honored with Academic All-District recognition for their exemplary performance in the classroom. Redshirt senior guards Becca Fugate and Kate McArthur, along with juniors Alyssa Leister and Shea Tripp, were acknowledged for their academic achievements by the College Sports Communicators organization. Fugate, set to graduate this spring with a degree in Nursing, boasts a 3.62 cumulative GPA and has achieved impressive stats on the court, including scoring 248 points in the past season. McArthur, who will also graduate this spring, holds a 3.75 cumulative GPA and has played in 97 games over her four years with the Warriors. Leister, majoring in Management, maintains a 3.83 GPA and has played in 78 career games, setting career highs in various offensive categories in the past season. Tripp, the lone Warrior to advance to the Academic All-American ballot, achieved numerous accolades on the court alongside her academic successes.
