Dutcher is the head coach for the nearby San Diego State Aztecs and has had tremendous success. Over his seven seasons leading the Aztecs, Dutcher has gone 177-57 with three Mountain West Conference regular season titles, three Mountain West Conference Tournament titles, five NCAA Tournament appearances and a runner-up finish in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Given his success in the state and the NCAA Tournament, Dutcher would be a slam dunk hire for the Trojans. But would he be willing to leave his highly successful SDSU program for a team likely heading for a rebuild?
