Myles Rice enters transfer portal: 5 landing spots for guard
Vanderbilt
The first D-I offer Rice ever received was from Georgia Southern, then coached by current Commodores head coach Mark Byington. Byington was so interested in Rice that he also offered him a scholarship when he moved on to James Madison a year later. While Rice didn’t choose Byington’s program out of high school, with the head coach now leading an SEC program, he may be more interested in the potential union.
With leading scorer Ezra Manjon and fellow guard Evan Taylor graduating and many guards in the transfer portal, the Commodores will certainly be looking for backcourt help. This would also bring Rice closer to the area where he grew up, which may be appealing to him. With plenty of opportunities for playing time and a connection to the head coach, Rice could make his way to Vanderbilt if the fit feels right.
