Track & Field Finishes First Day at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle track & field team kicked off action at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday evening, competing in the first handful events in the field and in the distance events. Action will continue tomorrow with the remaining events. The best individual placement of the day came in the Shot Put, where Shelly Jones took sixth overall. The senior thrower was just a shade below her first score of the season, tossing the shot a distance of 12.25m that was just behind Slippery Rock's Savannah Schneck.
