A slow start cost the Waunakee baseball team in a 10-4 season-opening loss at Middleton on Thursday, as the Warriors opened the 2024 campaign 0-1. “It took us a while to settle in, the nerves of the first game got to us especially offensively,” said Waunakee head coach Micah Thingvold. “We were eager to make something happen but had trouble with Middleton’s starting pitcher who mixed pitches well.
