Frere breaks 16-year discus record at Southern Miss
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The Augustana Vikings men’s and women’s track and field teams competed on day two of the Southern Miss Invitational and WashU Invite on Saturday. In field events on the women’s side, Charlotte Frere set a new school record in discus after throwing 49.09 meters to take first place. The mark breaks a 16-year record of 48.7 set by Marissa Banks back in 2008. The distance also serves as No. 1 in Division III so far this season.
