Kimaiyo Shatters School Record; Spartans Thrive at Raleigh Relays
RALEIGH, N.C. – Norfolk State junior Mercyline Kimaiyo ran arguably the best race of her collegiate career on Saturday at the Raleigh Relays, shattering her own school record in the 10,000 meters. Kimaiyo completed the event in 35 minutes, 10.60 seconds, nearly 90 seconds faster than the school record she had set at the same meet one year prior (36:39.16). Saturday’s time ranks second in MEAC history, behind only Faith Keitany’s 34:52.91 at the 2017 NCAA East Regional for Hampton.
