Dain Dainja transferring: 5 landing spots for Big Ten center
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (BVM) – A top high-major reserve is transferring. Redshirt junior forward Dain Dainja announced his entrance into the transfer portal on Monday after two seasons with the Illinois Fighting Illini. Dainja had previously spent two seasons with the Baylor Bears, one as a redshirt and one as a redshirt freshman.

Dainja averaged 6.1 points and 3.6 rebounds on 66% shooting over 10.8 minutes while playing in all 38 games for the Illini with three starts. While Dainja didn’t get starting minutes, he showed his value during Illinois’ NCAA Tournament run to the Elite Eight where he averaged nine points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 73% from the field.

Given his excellent March Madness performance, his high-major experience and status as a former top-100 recruit, Dainja will likely have several suitors in the transfer portal. With that in mind, here are five landing spots for the center.
