James Guinee named NESCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
HADLEY, Mass. — Bates senior captain James Guinee was named NESCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, after his outstanding performance at the Black & Gold Invitational. Guinee (Topsfield, Mass.) helped the Bobcats finish third overall by contributing a second-place finish in the hammer (54.51m) and a fourth-place mark in the discus (43.81m). Guinee posted a personal-best mark in the hammer, improving on his previous best of 47.89 meters and also set a new personal-best mark in the discus by beating his previous mark from last season (42.96m).
