Petrels lead Panthers through seven but fall

ATLANTA—The Oglethorpe baseball team had a late lead of 8-5 through seven innings against visiting LaGrange Tuesday night in a nonconference game, but the Stormy Petrels ended up on the short side of a 12-8 decision. Oglethorpe (13-14, 7-5 SAA) came out strong after last weekend’s sweep of Millsaps, leading 4-0 through one and 7-2 through three. A three-run homer from LaGrange in the fourth made it 7-5, but the Petrels tacked on one more in the bottom half to maintain the lead at 8-5.
