Pirates beat Merrill to open season

FRANKLIN — Junior Owen Dobberstein threw three no-hit innings, and Pewaukee’s baseball team won its season opener over Merrill, 4-3, in nonconference action Saturday from The Rock Sports Complex. The Pirates went ahead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and tacked on a key insurance run in the fifth, as Merrill scored three times in the sixth to pull within one.
