T&F: Kubes named Field Athlete of Week

WINONA, Minn. — Samantha Kubes (New Prague, Minn.) kicked off her outdoor season in style last weekend — and the Saint Mary's University senior was recognized for her efforts. Kubes, who won the hammer throw at the outdoor season-opening Washington (Mo.) University Invitational, was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
