Johnell Davis enters transfer portal: 5 landing spots for star
Georgia
FAU was one of the few programs to recruit Davis out of high school. Two of head coach Dusty May’s assistant coaches during his tenure with the Owls, Erik Pastrana and Akeem Miskdeen, are now assistants for the Bulldogs so they are familiar with Davis and his game. Georgia needs a veteran guard as well as top scorer Noah Thomasson exhausted his eligibility.
This would allow Davis to stay in a system similar to that of May’s while also joining an SEC program to help boost his draft stock if he returns. While the Bulldogs didn’t make the NCAA Tournament, they did advance to the NIT semifinal, so there is a lot of talent on the roster. Adding Davis would put Georgia over the top and could make them a contender in the SEC next season while the guard looks to boost his draft status.
