Julius Miettinen named U.S. Division Rookie of the Year

EVERETT, Wash. — Everett Silvertips center Julius Miettinen has been named 2023-24 U.S. Division Rookie of the Year and is a finalist for the Western Hockey League Jim Piggott Trophy to be announced Tuesday, May 7. Miettinen, an ’06-born Helsinki, Finland native, was originally selected 30th-overall in the 2023 CHL Import Draft. He paced all division rookies in scoring with 31 goals and 36 assists in 66 games played, ranking third amongst all WHL newcomers in goals and points.
