Former Averett women’s volleyball standout Shields Contreras ’18 selected to USA South Hall of Fame Class of 2024

ROME Ga. — Averett University Athletics Hall of Famer Hannah Shields Contreras ’18 was selected as one of five inductees into the USA South Athletic Conference’s Hall of Fame Class of 2023, which was announced Thursday. Contreras was a four-year standout on the Averett women’s volleyball team from 2014-17. Contreras joins former Meredith College administrator Jackie Myers, former Maryville College women’s basketball standout Mackenzie Puckett, the late Randy Tuggle who coached women’s basketball at Greensboro College, and former Christopher Newport University women’s basketball standout Misty Hart Williams in this year’s USA South Hall of Fame class.
