Khalif Battle enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots

St. John’s Red Storm

Playing for Rick Pitino at St. John’s would likely be a different experience than what Battle had at Arkansas, but a return close to home with the Red Storm could be a possibility. Pitino did a nice job putting a roster together primarily through the portal last offseason that fell just short of the NCAA Tournament in 2023-24. While he’ll have some skilled recruits coming in this offseason, including a couple of shooting guards, there still should be room to add an athletic scorer like Battle. St. John’s will likely have several players depart this offseason from its backcourt, many of whom are out of eligibility like Jordan Dingle, Chris Ledlum, Nahiem Alleyne and Daniss Jenkins. With second-leading scorer Joel Soriano also on his way out, Pitino will need to fill a large void of production and an addition like Battle would certainly help.
