Comets Nipped Late by Lady Jackets

RICHARDSON, Texas – The UT Dallas softball team lost the American Southwest Conference series finale to Howard Payne 6-5 at UTD Softball Field Saturday afternoon. The visiting Lady Jackets (9-18, 2-13 ASC) scored four unearned runs in the top of the seventh, erasing a 5-2 deficit entering the inning. The Comets (15-11, 6-6 ASC) opened the scoring with a two-run home run over the left field fence in the second.
