Verdugo, Villegas Combine to Shut Out Fullerton

Mark Duffel BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After the rainstorm passed over Cal State Bakersfield Friday night, the Roadrunner baseball team opened its Big West series against Cal State Fullerton with a doubleheader. CSUB earned a shutout victory in Game 1 of the twinbill before Fullerton answered back for a big win in the nightcap. In the opening game of the day, the `Runners leaned on starting pitcher Ryan Verdugo (7.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K) and reliever David Villegas (1.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) to outduel a pair of strong Titan pitchers....
