SMU Head Coach Andy Enfield has appointed Chris Capko as the associate head coach for SMU Men's Basketball. Capko previously served on Enfield's staff at USC for ten seasons, including three years as associate head coach. During his tenure, USC had a record of 176-93, made four NCAA Tournament appearances, and reached the Elite Eight in 2021. Capko contributed to USC's success in recruiting, securing consecutive Top-30 recruiting classes and producing six NBA Draft selections in his final six seasons. Before USC, he was an assistant coach at Florida International University and served as an assistant coach at Georgia Southern and Stetson. Capko also has experience as a graduate assistant at Marshall and was a student-athlete, earning Academic All-Big East honors during his time at USF. He holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications from USF and a Master's in adult and technical education from Marshall.
