Gardner-Webb Wins Series Finale Against VMI 5-4

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team picked up a series win on Sunday afternoon defeating the Virginia Military Institute in their three-game series finale by a final score of 5-4. The Runnin' Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a single from Humberto Torres scoring Nick Capozzi . Alec Burns singled to score Max Smyley extending the lead in the third. VMI put up a pair in the fourth to tie the game at two. Mark Black responded for the 'Dawgs in the bottom frame with a solo shot to leftfield regaining the lead....
