Women’s Tennis: Cortland Loses at St. Lawrence in Spring Opener

CANTON, N.Y. – The Cortland women’s tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2023-24 schedule with a 9-0 loss at St. Lawrence University in a non-league match at St. Lawrence’s Newell Field House. The Saints (8-6) won the doubles flights by 8-0, 8-2 and 8-1 scores and swept the six singles flight. The most competitive set came in the opener at first singles where St. Lawrence’s Ariane Karera outlasted Cortland’s Abby Madigan (Endicott/Union-Endicott), 6-4. Karera won the second set, 6-0.
