Baseball downs Roanoke

DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University baseball defeats Roanoke College 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Owen-Fulton Field. The score was tied up 2-2 going into the bottom of the seventh inning. Senior Brandt Brophy led off with a walk. Freshman Drew Skinner was walked as well to put runners on first and second. Junior Caden Grider laid down a sacrifice bunt to put the runners on second and third. Junior Mason Williams cracked a single up the middle to score Brophy and Skinner, putting the Cougars up 4-2. Averett (8-20, 4-9 ODAC) got on the board early in the first inning.…
