It was later reported that Williams II had entered the transfer portal.

Williams II has spent all four collegiate seasons at Michigan, growing as a contributor in each of his four seasons with the Wolverines.

The 6-foot-7 forward started 31 games for the Wolverines this season, averaging 12.4 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 39.7% from 3. Michigan fired head coach Juwan Howard following the disappointing season in which the Wolverines finished in last place in the Big Ten and failed to win a conference tournament game. Now, with one year of college eligibility remaining, Williams II could take his talents elsewhere.
