Lucy Olsen enters transfer portal: 5 landing spots for guard

The Cardinal are one of the country’s most successful programs and have maintained that strength through the early 2020s. With three Sweet 16 finishes and two Elite Eight finishes since 2021 and a national championship in 2021, Stanford certainly has the respect of women’s basketball players across the country. The Cardinal are also in need of scoring help with stars Cameron Brink and Hannah Jump both graduating. Olsen could form a deadly backcourt-frontcourt combination with returning Stanford star forward Kiki Iriafen.

The biggest question surrounding the Cardinal is the recent retirement of legendary head coach Tara VanDerveer. Will her departure cause a mass exodus from the program? Will her leaving make the team less desirable? Those are questions that Olsen would have to consider before she could comfortably join Stanford.
