Delaware State Responds from Eighth-Inning Deficit to Defeat Merrimack 22-21

ESSEX COUNTY, MASS --The Delaware State Hornets responded from down 21-18 in the eighth inning to win in breathtaking fashion, scoring four runs in the ninth to earn a 22-21 victory over the Merrimack Warriors Friday. Hiram Davis (5-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Delaware State (10-17, 9-7). The right-hander went two innings, giving up five runs, all of them earned, on five hits, allowing no walks and striking out three.
