Baseball: Scots Edged Out by Auggies

ST. PAUL, Minn. – It was a beautiful day out at Nicholson Field this afternoon, as Macalester baseball hosted Augsburg for a MIAC doubleheader. However, in both games, the Scots’ rally was cut short, and Macalester dropped two, 3-2 and 5-4. The Scots are now 5-20 (1-9 MIAC). In the first game, the Auggies took a 1-0 lead in the second. The Scots answered back in the bottom of the fourth. After advancing to second, sophomore Niko Alexander (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) was able to score off an RBI single from senior Matt Mukai (Foster City, Calif./Aragon) to tie the game.…
