Carroll Men Showcase Depth With Third-Place Finish At Beloit Relays
BELOIT, Wis. – The Carroll University men’s track and field team placed third in the nine-team Beloit Relays on Saturday. Steven Hermsen won the discus with a second-attempt distance of 54.65 meters (179-4), shot put with a fifth-attempt 16.22 meters (53-2.5) and was third in hammer throw with 54.20 meters (177-10) to lead Carroll, which scored 98 points. Hermsen, the three-time defending NCAA Division III champion in discus, is currently second ranked in the nation in the event. He is 15th in shot put and 23rd in the hammer throw.
