ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester men’s tennis team hosted the Johnnies of Saint John’s this morning at Hayden Courts. The Scots won the match, 6-3, and improve to 7-7, 4-2 MIAC. Slated at No. 1 doubles, juniors Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century) and L iam Lynch (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) took down their opponents, 8-4. The Johnnies earned the points at second and third doubles. At No. 1 singles, Sargent defeated his opponent in a three-set battle, (6-2, 6-7 (7-5 tiebreaker), 1-0 (11-9)).
