SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – University of Hawai'i's Blaze Akana and Josh Hayashida each shot 3-over 73 in the first round of the 77 th Western Intercollegiate Monday at the Pasatiempo Golf Club. Akana was 1-under par through 12 holes before posting bogey-double-triple on holes Nos. 13-15 to drop to 5-over. But the senior battled back and closed with birdies in his final two holes.
